Letter: All are welcome to committee meetings

TO THE EDITOR:

      In her July 14 letter to the editor, Melissa Gough said, “I am concerned that the Rail Trail Conversion (Advisory) Committee (RTCAC) has, as far as I know, excluded abutters from Committee membership.”To set the record straight, the RTCAC does not choose its own members. They are appointed by the Board of Selectmen.Three abutters were appointed to the RTCAC and one subsequently resigned.RTCAC meetings are open to the public and are regularly attended by abutters.All residents who are interested in the future use of the rail bed are invited to attend.
